A Philadelphia police officer was struck by a car and another was injured after a car fled a traffic stop on Saturday.
The incident occurred one day after another Philadelphia police officer was struck by a car in Germantown.
Saturday’s incident occurred in North Philadelphia at the 300 block of East Erie Ave at around 5 p.m.
The officer was taken to the hospital and is expected to be released Saturday, police said.
According to Philadelphia Police Inspector DF Pace, the incident began as a traffic stop, but the officer realized that a passenger in the car was wanted for charges.
As officers were making the arrest, the suspect began to fight back and then got back in the car with a handcuff around one of his hands.
As the car began to escape, two officers were struck and were hospitalized non-life threatening injuries, Pace said.
The suspect remains on the loose and police are looking for them, but no description was immediately available.
